Following a decision by PA Governor Wolf on March 16th to suspend all PennDOT and PA Turnpike projects due to COVID-19, CDR Maguire was notified on March 31st that one or more sections of Southern Beltway (State Route 22 to Interstate 79) would be restarted. CDR Maguire, the Construction Manager for the project, along with the PA Turnpike Commission and the prime contractors have been in multiple meetings over the last week to develop COVID-19 Safety Implementation Plans. These plans will promote and require strong safety measures to keep all project workers safe as they return to the job site. New office and site protocols, all electronic reporting, and construction specific social distancing guidelines are part of the Safety Plans.
CDR Maguire Administrative Project Manager Stephen Shadle, P.E., Construction Project Manager Dale Rosinski, P.E., Section 55C2-1 Assistant Project Manager Josh Farley, P.E., and CM Office Manager Christine Mlinek have all been instrumental in developing the Safety Implementation Plan now being reviewed by the PA Turnpike.
We’re looking forward to getting Pennsylvanians back to work in April on construction projects, but more importantly, doing it safely in light of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
