Glenwood Bridge Preservation Project, Pittsburgh, PA
Comments
The Glenwood Bridge, which opened in 1966, is Pennsylvania’s first all-welded steel truss bridge and offers a back-door route to Downtown Pittsburgh for South Hills motorists. The four-lane span links Glenwood and Hazelwood with Hays, a neighborhood in the 31st Ward.
CDR Maguire is managing the current preservation project for the bridge, including concrete and steel repairs as well as spot painting. We also managed the $10 million rehabilitation of the bridge which was completed in the spring of 2000.The project included deck replacement, steel repairs, and complete repainting of the structure.
