Glenwood Bridge Preservation Project

The Glenwood Bridge, which opened in 1966, is Pennsylvania’s first all-welded steel truss bridge and offers a back-door route to Downtown Pittsburgh for South Hills motorists. The four-lane span links Glenwood and Hazelwood with Hays, a neighborhood in the 31st Ward.

CDR Maguire Engineering is managing the current preservation project for the bridge, including concrete and steel repairs as well as spot painting. We also managed the $10 million rehabilitation of the bridge which was completed in the spring of 2000. The project included deck replacement, steel repairs, and complete repainting of the structure.
