Lehigh County, PA
This project involved the reconstruction of Lehigh Street (SR 1014) from Front Street in Whitehall Township, Lehigh County to Second Street in North Catasauqua Borough in Northampton County. The roadway traverses the Ironton Rail Trail, an abandoned Norfolk Southern property, Water Street, the Lehigh River, the Lehigh Canal and an active Norfolk Southern track. Our company performed all preliminary and final design services including field surveying, engineering and design of the structures, roadways and intersections, environmental clearance studies and permitting, ROW Plan, E&S Plan, utility coordination/relocation, MPT plan, lighting plan, and coordination of geotechnical and environmental investigations by subconsultants.
- The new 825 foot, eight span prestressed concrete I-beam and prestressed box beam bridge spans the Lehigh River and active railroad lines
- A pre-cast concrete arch bridge is constructed over the Ironton Rail-Trail
- Water Street in Whitehall Township was reconstructed using a portion of the existing alignment and a new alignment to meet the new bridge.
