Our company was selected by PennDOT to be the lead consulting firm to deliver for bid individual project sites under one contract. The purpose of this project was for PennDOT to examine the logistics of replacing local bridges for the townships and boroughs that are not financially capable. Cost savings through similar materials was the theme for all the project sites. When possible, similar span lengths, bridge beams, culvert sizes, pile sizes and even railing types were used.
Our services included field surveying, preliminary planning, hydrologic and hydraulic studies, environmental permitting, geotechnical investigation and testing, utility coordination, right-of-way clearance, E&S plans, roadway and bridge design, traffic control, stormwater drainage and roadside improvements. Our compnay was able to complete these tasks for all sites in 6 months. We remained involved in this project throughout construction by providing shop drawing review and construction consultation.
