As part of an ongoing contract with the City of Pittsburgh to provide Project Management and Administrative Services, CDR Maguire Engineering provided management services for the preliminary design and final design of a project to make improvements to the Penn Avenue Corridor in the city’s East End.
- Phase 1 improvements included reconstructing the roadway, curbs, and sidewalks; improving street lighting; upgrading 12 signalized intersections; and upgrading the sewer system from Main Street to Penn Circle.
- Phase 2 extends along Penn Avenue from Evaline Street to Graham Street in the city’s Bloomfield, Garfield, and Friendship neighborhoods and includes similar improvements such as roadway repair; sidewalk, curb, and gutter replacements; signal upgrades; intersection improvements; new storm sewers; new streetlights and other streetscaping.
