The US 22/PA 145 Interchange Project involves the reconstruction of PA 145 (MacArthur Road), the PA 145/MacArthur Road Bridge over US 22, and the US 22 Interchange ramps. The Interchange has been reconfigured to eliminate the current meshing movements on the US 22 on/off ramps, and provide traffic signals on PA 145/MacArthur Road at the new ramp locations. The project also provides a wider bridge over US 22, to accommodate future widening of SR22, with sidewalks on both sides and improved vertical clearance over US 22.
Our company performed the field surveying, preliminary and final design of the new bridge and all interchange improvements including pavement design, sidewalks, and signalized intersections, MTP plans, NPDES permitting, signing and pavement marking plans, highway lighting, temporary pedestrian bridge design and utility coordination.
- The large volume of traffic on US 22 combined with a busy interchange that serves as the main entrance point to the Lehigh Valley Mall necessitated an aggressive project schedule.
